THE GREATEST SUPER BOWL PARTY RECIPE EVER (EVERYONE WILL WANT SECONDS!) | SAM THE COOKING GUY
recipe by SAM THE COOKING GUY (@samthecookingguy)
Ingredients:
- Olive oil (estimate: 2 tablespoons)
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 4-5 large garlic cloves, minced
- Tomato paste (estimate: 2 tablespoons)
- Smoked paprika (estimate: 1 teaspoon)
- Italian seasoning (estimate: 1 teaspoon)
- Garlic powder (estimate: 1/2 teaspoon)
- Kosher salt (estimate: 1 teaspoon)
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes with their liquid
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 can tomato bisque
- Soy sauce or soy paste (estimate: 1 1/2 tablespoons)
- 2 cups macaroni, uncooked
- Cheddar cheese, shredded (estimate: 1 1/2 cups or to taste)
- Optional: Fresh herbs for garnish (e.g., parsley)
Steps:
1
Heat olive oil in a pot, then add diced yellow onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for a couple of minutes.
2
Add ground beef and Italian sausage to the pot, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
3
Once the meat is browned and most liquid has evaporated, create space in the center of the pot, add more oil and minced garlic. Let the garlic become fragrant.
4
Stir in tomato paste, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt, and cook for a few more minutes.
5
Pour in beef broth, add diced tomatoes with liquid, and both cans of the tomato soup and tomato bisque. Mix to combine.
6
Add soy sauce or soy paste and bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer for approximately ten minutes.
7
Stir in the uncooked macaroni, making sure it's well mixed. Cover with a lid and simmer until the pasta is tender, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8
Once the pasta is cooked and the sauce has thickened, optionally stir in shredded cheddar cheese until it's melted and well incorporated. Serve hot.
9
Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and enjoy your rich and delicious American Chop Suey (also known as Beefaroni, Beef and Macaroni, or Johnny Marzetti).
